PAPER Artistic Development CIC is a newly established social enterprise opening up new possibilities for the community to make a living through creativity and passion. PAPER’s endeavour is to show young budding entrepreneurs the coexistence between creativity and business and how this can change the communities they live in. PAPER specifically aims to inspire unemployed young people (18-24 years olds) to embrace their ambitions, make an income through their creative talents and enjoy the satisfaction of working in projects they feel passionate about, whilst being able to provide for themselves. PAPER also provides opportunities for self-development through the arts to the general public.
PAPER is a grassroots community organisation working closely to those who they aim to help. Consequently, long-term unemployed young people and creative entrepreneurs form their team and board of directors, meaning that young, creative people work together to help others in a difficult situation to overcome barriers to employment, tackling youth unemployment from it score. PAPER’s service offer includes studio space for entrepreneurs, retail space for independent ventures (showcasing and selling the work of more than 120 artists in Bristol), creative paid internships, arts and photographic high-quality printing service, art gallery, pop-up space hire, training facility and training programmes.
PAPER’s team wants to show individuals that one of the greatest skills in life is to recognise talent and respect it. PAPER will guide them to recognise their own talents and feel rewarded for it.
